Raymond TAN is the Senior Programme Manager at the Unmanned Maritime Systems Programme Office in Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA). He leads DSTA's Unmanned Surface Vessels (USV) capability planning and capability development projects. Prior to his appointment, Raymond was involved in the development and integration of underwater defence systems projects, as well as systems architecting and masterplanning for the Singapore Armed Forces’ capabilities. He is a member of Singapore’s Maritime Port Authority's Committee for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) Working Group that develops MASS rules and regulations, and a member of the Singapore Maritime Institute’s Technology Advisory Panel that reviews the scientific merit and industry relevance of submitted maritime research programme and project proposals. Raymond graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Beng. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and obtained his MSc. in Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
